Sofa Sessions is a digital music platform designed to spotlight and promote emerging musical artists through intimate, high-quality performance episodes filmed in a cozy, female-led living room setting. The series offers a safe, friendly and fun environment where creativity, authenticity, and artistry can thrive, whilst providing a platform for artists to gain notoriety, and be scouted.
Sofa Sessions is more than a music series—it’s a platform, network, and performance experience, to support young artists and help them gain the momentum they need to advance their careers. While talent and dedication are essential, it’s often opportunity and visibility that unlock real progress. Sofa Sessions bridges that gap, offering an accelerator space giving young musicians access to mainstream platforms from a single source. It's Dynamic
Each episode features a dynamic mix of relaxed interviews, interspersed with live performances, interactive Q&A’s games, and unique entertainment elements. One signature feature is the “Cocktail/Mocktail Introduction,” where the artist and host bond over a specially curated drink to match the moment, breaking the ice before the performance. Another standout moment is the “Mystery Vinyl” segment, in which artists and hosts explore and blind-review an unfamiliar record—offering spontaneous reactions and connecting with music outside their usual repertoire. This combination of content is designed not only to showcase the artist’s musical talent, but also their personality and creative process in an engaging and human way.
Team
The core team behind Sofa Sessions is made up entirely of Trinity Laban alumni: Maddie Jamieson (creator, producer, host, & singer), Alique Khambatta (pianist and producer), Edward Weedon (trumpeter and sound engineer), Daniel Chominack (singer & videographer). Our advisory board is made up of professional mentors affiliated with Stanford University and the music and publishing industries.
